Andhra Pradesh: Man hacks mother-in-law to death for keeping his wife even after 5 years of marriage with them

Kakinada: In a gruesome incident, a man allegedly hacked his mother-in-law to death and inflicted severe injuries on his father-in-law and brother-in-law when they came to rescue her at Vidyuth Nagar area in Pithapuram town on Wednesday.
Police said the incident took place around six am this morning when Ramanamma came out to clean the verandah and the accused hiding in dark suddenly pounced on her with a butchers knife and stabbed her indiscriminately.
On hearing her screams for help, both her husband and son came to her rescue but they were also attacked and suffered grievous injuries. The deceased was identified as Gantupalli Ramanamma (52) and the injured as Satyanarayana (56) father-in-law and Dileep (20) brother-in-law.
Kakinada Sub divisional police officer V Bhimarao who rushed to the spot has arranged to shift the injured to Kakinada for treatment. He conducted preliminary enquiries with the neighbours and deployed a special team to search for the accused who is at large.
Bhimrao said the motive for the murder was yet to be ascertained. The body was shifted to government hospital for postmortem, he added.
It is learnt that the accused bore a grudge against the in-laws for keeping his wife even after five years of marriage with them under the pretext of higher studies.
The accused Sygati Ramesh studied M. Pharma while his wife did her B Tech and is now away at Hyderabad for some technical course leaving four-year-old son with her parents.
Ramesh hails from neighbouring Kandarada village and allegedly suspecting wife's fidelity and her parent's tacit support.
He came to Pithapuram without in-laws knowledge with full plan of to eliminate them. However, his wife is away at Hyderabad and thus saved, reliable sources said.
Pithapuram rural police registered a case and investigation is on. (UNI)
