Ayodhya without Ram unimaginable: President Kovind

Ayodhya: President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday said that it is unimaginable for Ayodhya without Lord Ram as the 'country's soul' is present here.

"Lord Ram is worshipped by everyone and Ayodhya has turned out to be a religious and cultural centre of the world," Mr Kovind said.

The President, who inaugurated the Ramayana conclave here at the Ramkatha Park on Sunday, said Ayodhya has relevance in other countries too.

The Queen Suri Ratna of Korea is from the city while in Thailand there is a city named 'Ayutthaya,' drawn from Ayodhya," he said.

Reminiscing father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi's dream, Mr Kovind said that Gandhiji too dreamt of a 'Ram Rajya'.

He will pray at Hanumangarhi and Ram Lalla temple at around 1430 hrs.

The President lauded the Yogi Adityanath government in UP for all-round development of Ayodhya.

"It is good to see that PM and CM are giving equal importance in developing Kashi dham And Ayodhya," he added.

Chief minister Yogi Adityanath while welcoming the President said that Ayodhya has been honoured on his visit.
