Doctor couple booked for cheating hotelier of Rs 1.52 cr

Thane: The city police have booked a doctor couple from Vayle Nagar of Kalyan for allegedly cheating a hotel owner, also from Kalyan to the tune of Rs 1.52 crore, police said here on Sunday.
The couple was booked under Sections 420, 406 rw 34 of IPC and subsequently a manhunt was launched by the Kolsewadi police of Kalyan town.Police have identified the accused as Dr Hemant More and Dr Manisha More, who owned the Sri Dental Hospital at Khadak Pada of the town.
 
The police quoting the complainant YA Mangutkar said that it was between November 2016 and June 2019 the couple had taken a loan from him to the tune of Rs. 1.52 crore stating that they had to purchase a land in their home town at Dhulia,  and also had incurred enormous loan in the purchase of medical equipment for their hospital.
 
After getting loan from the victim the accused couple offered their four galas in the building in which they were residing, for Rs 6 crores in lieu of the refund of the loan. However, they without the knowledge of the victim sold the galas to some other person and also did not not return the loan taken from the victim. The victim who realized that he had been cheated by the doctor couple filed the complaint with the police.
 
In wake of such crimes, the Kolsewadi police late in the evening issued a press release in which they have appealed to the citizen to come forward and inform the police if any other person has been cheated by the doctor couple in the similar fashion.(UNI)
