For eloping with lover head of woman shaved and paraded in Jharkhand's Palamu

Daltonganj: Villagers shaved the head of a married woman and paraded her in the village as she had eloped with her lover who was also a married man.
The incident took place Sunday night in Semra village under Chainpur police station area of the Palamu district. The woman had eloped with her lover one month earlier and was living in Paneribandh area.
After her husband got information regarding her he brought her back to the village where he along with other family members thrashed her and after shaving off her head her face was blackened and she was paraded across the village.
The husband along with fellow villagers later took the woman to the house of her lover and left her. Upon receiving information a police team reached the village and brought the woman and her lover to the police station.
Chainpur police station officer-in-charge Uday Gupta said that after questioning the victim an FIR has been registered against 12 people which also included her husband and eight other women. (UNI)
