Former Mr India winner attempts suicide, blames Style actor Sahil Khan for defaming him

Mumbai: Mr India contest winner of 2016 Manoj Patil on Thursday allegedly made an attempt to commit suicide by consuming sleeping pills. He is currently in hospital and in critical condition.

The incident took place between 12.30 am and 1 am at Patil's residence in Oshiwara area of the city suburb.

His family members rushed him to a hospital where his condition was stated to be "critical", family friend Sonawne said.

Patil, 29, had a few days back submitted a letter to the Oshiwara police, demanding action against a Bollywood actor Sahil Khan for allegedly defaming him on social media and creating problems in his professional life, he said.

Meanwhile, Sr inspector of police Sanjay Bhentade said that the statement of Patil's parents has been recorded by the police and investigation is in progress.

Patil, born in 1992, won the Mr India Men's Physique Overall Championship in 2016. (UNI)
