Indore Test: A whitewash on kiwis hands Kohli and company the Test mace

Indore: Virat Kohli-led team India outplayed New Zealand by 321 runs to win the third and final Test beside complete a 3-0 whitewash of the visitors at the Holkar Stadium here this evening. Besides India has reclaimed its No. 1 test ranking and test mace was handed over to the Team India lead by Virat Kohli.
Earlier in the morning, Cheteshwar Pujara slammed his eighth Test ton before Kohli declared India's second innings on 216/3, giving New Zealand a 475-run victory target.Also, Gautam Gambhir, who made a comeback in the national squad after two years, hit his half-century off 56 balls.
Pujara's unbeaten 101 included nine boundaries.After Kohli's departure, Pujara and Rahane added 58 runs for the fourth wicket.The Black Caps, chasing a mammoth 475 runs, received blows at regular intervals and it was Ravichandran Ashwin (7-59) who did the damage again in the second innings.The off-spinner, who bagged a total of 26 wickets in the entire series, was also named Man of the Series.(UNI)
