Bengaluru: Bengaluru city police have booked 6 IAF officers for alleged murder after a trainee cadet was found hanging in an IAF college.

The IAF officers were booked on a complaint filed by deceased Ankit Jha's brother Aman Jha at the Gangamma Gudi Police Station on Saturday.

The police said an investigation is underway to know the reason for Ankit's death. The accused have not yet been arrested, but the Indian Air Force has assured all assistance, they added.

Earlier, the 27-year-old Ankit's father UK Jha told UNI that the police were trying to make a suicide case out his son's death. He said his family suspects that Ankit was murdered and the deceased had informed them about the six accused IAF officers who allegedly harassed him.

The police said Ankit could have died four to five days ago by hanging himself in a room of the Air Force Technical College (AFTC).

AFTC is run by IAF and trains military aeronautical engineers. (UNI)
