Karnataka ex-CM Sadananda Gowda’s controversial ‘morphed video’ goes viral, lodges police complaint

Bengaluru: Former union minister and senior BJP leader DV Sadananda Gowda has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police and won an injunction from a court, which restricts people from forwarding and uploading a morphed porn video of his, which has gone viral on social media.

Speaking on the issue, Gowda said a morphed video has been created by his adversaries with vested interest to malign his impeccable image.

"Dear well wishers, a morphed (deep fake) video of mine has been making rounds on social media. I would like to inform you that, it is not me in the video, it's created to malign my impeccable image by my adversaries with vested interest," he said in a tweet.

He further said that he has received an injunction order from a court in his favour, which restricts people from forwarding and uploading the malicious content, which is punishable as per the relevant sections of the law.

Also, I as per the injunction order of the court, anyone forwarding/uploading the content will be punishable as per the relevant sections of the law.

Gowda also said that he has filed a complaint with the cyber crime police and believed that the culprits would be nabbed soon. (UNI)
