Kite manja slits journalist’s neck in Tripura

Agartala: A young journalist of a leading daily Kamal Chowdhury was seriously injured last evening after his neck was circled by threads of kite abandoned on the city flyover.

He was traveling on motorbike to the newspaper office and to control the bike, he had to walk for a while with a twisted neck.

As a result, a major portion of his throat was cut deeply but a Maruti car behind him noticed him on the motorcycle with a sore throat and bleeding.

The driver rescued him and took him to IGM hospital in the city where doctors sewed the cut on his neck with 22 stitches.

The doctors attending him said he is out of danger and advised him complete rest and to eat soft food.

The incident enraged the people and demanded the government to stop flying kites in the city as per law to avoid major accidents. (UNI)
