Madrasa teacher detained in Gonda for alleged links to ISIS

Lucknow: A madrasa teacher was detained on Wednesday for interrogation by the National Investigation Agency(NIA) in Gonda on alleged links with the terrorist group ISIS.According to the sources here,  a joint team of NIA and UP ATS conducted a raid on the house of a Maulana in Mewatiyan locality and picked up for interrogation.
Maulana was a teacher in Forkaniya Madarsa in Gonda and is an expert in Arabic Language.
Two bags and a laptop have been seized for further investigation. The NIA said that searches were being conducted based on inputs from interrogation of the people arrested due to involvement in 'Harkat ul Harb e Islam' module of global terrorist group ISIS.
 
Earlier, the central agency carried out search operations in Western Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, and so far arrested 16 people. The ISIS module is allegedly planning suicide attacks and serial blasts, targeting politicians and government installations, in Delhi and other parts of north India, the sources said. (UNI)
