New Delhi: Dismissing reports that the ruling Grand Alliance of JD(U)-RJD-Congress in Bihar is heading for a split, the Congress today said that the "mahagathbandhan' in the state was strong and stable. Talking to reporters here, AICC spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi, when asked to respond to JD-U leader Nitish Kumar blaming the Congress for the "current mess" in the Opposition, said, 'This kind of questioning comes in the context of the Presidential polls.

As far as the poll is concerned, the decision of an individual does not impact the Grand alliance in Bihar. Our coalition in Bihar is strong and stable.' In his latest attack, Mr Kumar blamed the Congress for the "current mess" in the Opposition, adding that the "idea of a Sangh-mukht Bharat cannot fructify without taking all Opposition parties into confidence'. He said that the statements by Mr Kumar had not impacted the alliance between the Congress and the JD-U in Bihar in any manner.

Even since his decision to support the NDA presidential nominee Ram Nath Kovind, there has been an increasing speculation that the Grand alliance in Bihar between the Congress--JD-U and the RJD was heading for split. (UNI)
