Mamata Banerjee fires fresh salvo at Governor Dhankar, calls him ‘corrupt’

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Monday alleged that Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar was conspiring against her government and trying to divide the state.
Addressing media at Nabanna, Ms Banerjee questioned the Governor's visit to North Bengal and alleged that he was trying to foment trouble in the parts of northern districts of the state.
Mr Dhankhar returned to Raj Bhawan on Monday after a visit to North Bengal.
Ms Banerjee alleged that the Governor was a "corrupt" man whose name "was in the chargesheet of Jain Hawala case".
She said her government has written three letters for the removal of Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar.
"I have written three letters for the removal of West Bengal Governor. He is a corrupt man, his name was in the chargesheet of Hawala Jain case in 1996," the chief minister alleged. (UNI)
