Bengaluru: Karnataka Minister CN Ashwath Narayan on Friday said the state government is ready for encountering those who indulge in communal and political killings.
"There is a desire among the party workers and general public that the government should take severe action. We are ready for it. We will find them. We will nab them. We are ready for an encounter," he told reporters here.
These remarks were made in the wake of murder of BJP youth leader Praveen Nettaru at Bellare in Dakshina Kannada district on Tuesday night. Two persons suspected to have links with PFI and SDPI have been arrested by the police.
Taking cognisance of the anger in BJP karyakartas for the government's failure to protect them, the Karnataka government on Friday decided to hand over the case to the National Investigation Agency.
Asked about adopting the Yogi Adityanath model of governance, Narayan said Karnataka will go five steps ahead of Uttar Pradesh and set a benchmark for other states to emulate.
"We are a progressive state where other states emulate us. We will go five steps ahead of the UP model," he said.
Bommai also had said if need be, his government would have a Yogi-model of governance where strict action would be taken against criminals of any hue. (UNI)
