Pune: The city unit of Shiv Sena on Monday filed a complaint against Independent MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana at Vishrantwadi police station, alleging that the couple had gone to Mumbai a few days back with intention to create communal violence in the state.
In the complaint that was marked to city police commissioner, Sena deputy city chief Anand Ramnivas Goyal stated that the Rana couple also used foul language against Shiv Sena president and Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and tried to create such an atmosphere in Maharashtra that can further lead to destabilization of law and order in the state.
The Sainiks demanded that Pune police should book the Ranas under different criminal offences since it was a pre-planned act by them to create communal violence in the state.
Goyal took the opportunity to thank the Mumbai police for their swift action and having arrested the Ranas before occurrence of any untoward incident in Maharashtra. (UNI)
