Karkala: In a major development, senior Congress leader Veerappa Moily and his son Harsha Moily have decided not to contest in the upcoming elections from any constituency including Karkala in Dakshina Kannada district.
"In the forthcoming elections, I myself or my son Harsha Moily will not contest from Karkala constituency or in any other constituency," he told reporters here. The seat will be given to a deserving Congress candidate, Moily told reporters here.
Expressing optimism, Moily said the party can win the next assembly election with a majority in Karnataka if it executes a campaign similar to Himachal Pradesh's.
Venting ire over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's comment over bringing about a cooperation between Amul and Nandini brands, Moily called it as foolish and an insecure step. (UNI)
