Aurangabad (Maharashtra): In a swift and humble gesture, Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad saved the life of a fellow flight passenger on Monday.
While the MoS was flying from Delhi to Mumbai, a passenger seated behind him complained of dizziness as his blood pressure shot up.
Responding to the medical situation, Dr. Karad immediately rushed to aid the patient as the bewildered passengers watched the MoS giving the preliminary treatment.
Union Minister Dr Bhagwat Karad gave primary medical aid to a co-passenger on-board Delhi-Mumbai flight last night
"Patient was sweating profusely & had low BP. I removed his clothes, raised his legs, rubbed his chest & gave glucose. He felt better after 30 minutes," Karad says pic.twitter.com/xPrhADxZSG
The swift medical attention relieved the patient and saved his life mid-air. Those onboard the flight were impressed by the empathy of Dr Karad and hailed him for the quick action.
Indigo later thanked Dr. Karad for his help. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also applauded his nobel act and wrote, "A doctor by heart, always!"
Specialising as a paediatrician, Dr. Karad has for the second time saved a human life as on October 24 he took two children to a hospital after they were injured in a road accident here. (UNI)
