Police sources said that Satyendra alias Deepu, son of Jitendra Prajapati, a resident of Resi village, went missing on Sunday evening. "Deepu could not be traced even after searching till Sunday night. On Monday morning the semi-charred body of the boy was recovered from a drain near the village," they said.
Police sources said that the body had burn marks at several places and both the eyes of the child had also been gouged out. "The father of the victim has raised suspicion that Deepu was sacrificed due to superstition," they said.
Circle Officer (CO) Gauriganj Mayank Dwivedi said that the body of a boy has been found in Resi village in Jamo area. "The body has been sent for post mortem examination and further legal action is being taken," they said. (UNI)
