Banda (UP): A man killed his son and daughter-in-law with a sharp-edged weapon allegedly over a minor right in Naraini area of Banda district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior officer said here on Wednesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinandan said that Deshraj Rajput, a resident of Barsara Manpur village, killed his son Munnilal (38) and daughter-in-law Munni (35) with the sharp-edged weapon late on Tuesday night and escaped.
He said that the police officers along with a field unit and dog squad inspected the spot during which two bodies were recovered.
"It seems that the couple was killed while they were asleep. The bodies have been sent for post mortem examination. Further legal action is being taken after lodging a case and efforts are being made to arrest the accused," he said.
The SP said that according to the villagers the couple lived with the father in the same house.
"The villagers have informed that there was a minor rift between father and son. The case will be worked out soon by arresting the accused father, who is absconding," he said. (UNI)
