Rahul Gandhi to be elevated as congress president a day after Gujarat election result

New Delhi: The election for the post of Congress president will be held on December 16, the Congress working Committee, announced here on Monday, paving the way for the elevation of vice president Rahul Gandhi.
The notification for the polls will be issued on December 1 and the last date of filing nominations was December 4. Valid nominations will be declared on December 11, and polling if necessary will be held on December 16, and counting of votes will take place on December 19.These decisions were taken after the CWC meeting here.Earlier, the CWC passed a resolution for elevation of Mr Gandhi as party president.
