Kolkata: Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda was dropped from the squad ahead of a Ranji Trophy Elite Group A match against Andhra due to misconduct

The Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) issued a fresh 15-member squad for the game that didn't feature Dinda. The decision was taken by the CAB, after the cricketer 'abused' bowling coach Ranadeb Bose after a pre-match practice session.

"Dinda was given time till the evening to apologise for his behaviour. He didn't, and could well be ignored for the rest of the season. The selectors dropped him to teach him a lesson, according to CAB sources.

"There was no other way but to expel him from the squad," said someone in the know of things.
"Today, he kind of crossed all limits by hurling abuses at Ranadeb in front of all the players. Ranadeb then lodged a written complaint about the matter to the CAB after which an apology was sought from Dinda. He was given enough opportunities to rectify himself," the sources added.

However, no one from the Bengal camp came up with any official statement on the matter.
Dinda was earlier dropped from Bengal's Syed Mushtaq Ali squad. He has had IPL stints with teams like Delhi Daredevils, Kolkata Knight Riders, Pune Warriors, Rising Pune Supergiants, Royal Challengers Bangalore.(UNI)
