Cricket Pitch work to start from Dec 20 in Dharamshala for India-Australia match

Dharamshala: The work of preparing the pitches for the India-Australia cricket Test match to be held in March at the International Cricket Stadium at Dharamshala will start from December 20.
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA ) sources told UNI that the HPCA management will first lay light soil on the three main pitches to keep them ready for the Test match. These pitches will be covered with tarpaulin for a week and after the grass grows on the pitch, the work of preparing the pitches will be done.
Apart from this, the pitches of the practice area in the stadium will also be repaired. The players of India and Australia team will practice on these before the Test match.
The work of placing new wicket camera boxes on five pitches of the stadium started from today and this project will be completed by December 20.
Sunil Chauhan, Chief Pitch Curator, HPCA said that there will now be a system of wicket cameras on five pitches in the stadium.Earlier in this stadium there was a system of wicket cameras only on the middle three pitches and only the main middle pitch will be prepared for this test match.
The pitch work will be started in the stadium from December 20. Three middle pitches will be prepared for the match. The purpose of preparing pitches in the stadium will be because the same pitch is used for the play for all the five days during the Test match. A special plan has been prepared for this. Apart from this, the pitches of the practice area will also be prepared ahead of time.(UNI)
