Cricketer Martin on life support, family seeks financial help

Vadodara: Baroda's Ranji Trophy winning former captain Jacob Martin's family has sought financial help from the cricketing community who continues to remain on life support here at Vadodara hospital.    
On December 28, the former captain met with an accident and was admitted to hospital and is reportedly on ventilator following injuries to his lungs and liver.  The BCCI provided a monetary help of Rs 5 lakh, while Baroda Cricket Association sanctioned Rs 3 lakh. Meanwhile, former BCCI and BCA secretary, Sanjay Patel is also facilitating the efforts to raise the funds.    
  
Martin played 10 ODIs for India between September 1999 and October 2001, with 22.57 average. The former Ranji captain played Baroda and Railways in domestic cricket, and his last first-class was in December 2009. He captained Baroda to their maiden Ranji crown, beating Railways in the 2000-2001 season.(UNI)
