DSport suspends PSL broadcast in India post Pulwama attack

Dubai:DSport, the official broadcaster of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) in India on Sunday suspended the telecast of the tournament in the country after Thursday's terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district that claimed lives of 44 Central Reserve Police Force personnel and injuring others. 
"We have suspended broadcast from of the league," said an official from the broadcaster. 
Currently, the fourth edition of the PSL is underway in Dubai. The opening match of the tournament was played on Thursday.
 
According to reports, DSport were expected to stop the telecast in India from the second day of the league but due to some technical problems they were not able to do so. However, DSport blacked out their broadcast from the fifth game which was played at 2130 hrs on Saturday.
Many cricketers from all across around the world are taking part in tournament which comprises six teams competing for the cup but no Indian player has ever played in the league. The final stage of the league is expected to be hosted in Pakistan. 
 
The tournament had no broadcasters in the country until last year when DSport bought the telecasting rights.Meanwhile, the Cricket Club of India (CCI) also took down the portrait of former Pakistan cricketer and now Prime Minister, Imran Khan from their collection on Saturday, as a mark of respect to CRPF jawnas martyred in Pulwama attack.(UNI)
