In a horrifying incident from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, a woman allegedly attacked her brother-in-law and cut off his private part after he refused to marry her younger sister. The accused fled the scene soon after the assault. The injured man has been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.
Love affair turned ugly after three years
According to reports, Umesh Kumar, son of Ram Asrey from Malkhanpur village, had been in a relationship with his sister-in-law’s younger sister for about three years. The two were deeply involved and had even decided to get married, with their families being aware of the relationship.
Umesh’s elder brother, Uday Kumar, is married to Manju, a resident of Kahlil village—who is the accused in this case.
Umesh refused to marry his lover
Things took a drastic turn about three months ago when Umesh suddenly refused to marry his girlfriend, claiming he had fallen in love with someone else and wanted to marry her instead. His decision angered his sister-in-law, Manju, who tried to convince him to reconsider, but he didn’t listen.
Meanwhile, the rejection devastated the young woman—Manju’s sister—who reportedly slipped into severe depression and even threatened to end her life.
Midnight revenge attack
Outraged over her sister’s suffering, Manju allegedly decided to take revenge. On the night of October 16, at around 2 a.m., while Umesh was asleep in his room, she entered quietly and attacked him multiple times on his private parts, severing them completely.
Hearing his screams, family members rushed to the room and found him bleeding profusely. He was immediately taken to a local hospital and later referred to SRN Trauma Center, where doctors managed to save his life after a 90-minute surgery.
Police have registered a case based on the family’s complaint and have launched a manhunt for the absconding accused.
