Federation Cup: Dhanalakshmi, who had previously stunned Dutee Chand, now beats Hima Das, breaks PT Usha’s 200m record

Patiala: Continuing her fine form, Tamil Nadu’s S Dhanalakshmi beat star athlete Hima Das to break the meet record in the women’s 200m at the Federation Cup National Senior Athletics Championships, here.

Dhanalakshmi’s victory was a meet record as she clocked a time of 23.26 seconds. She rewrote a 23-year-old record held by the legendary ‘Payyoli Express’ PT Usha.

Usha had set the record of 23.30 seconds set in Chennai in 1998.

This is another feather in the cap for Dhanalakshmi who had previously stunned star athlete Dutee Chand in the 100m final. (UNI)
