Rinku Singh wants to play for this team If not retained by KKR in IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Rinku Singh, who has been an integral part of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) since 2018, has consistently impressed with his performances in the IPL. His potential was particularly evident during the 2022 season where he played a decisive role in securing a crucial victory against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).  Rinku Singh’s remarkable form continued into 2023 highlighted by an unforgettable match against the Gujarat Titans where he struck 5 consecutive sixes to lead his team to an improbable victory.

In the 2023 season Rinku Singh emerged as KKR's top run scorer accumulating 474 runs in 14 matches at an average of 59.25. Rinku Singh is known for his ability to remain calm and deliver explosive performances even under intense pressure

His stellar performance earned him a spot in the Indian team where he further demonstrated his prowess by scoring 418 runs at a strike rate of 174.17 in T20 internationals. 



 
Despite his impressive contributions he was not selected for the T20 World Cup squad but the 2025 IPL season is expected to be a crucial period for him.


As the mega auction for IPL 2025 approaches, significant team changes are anticipated. In a recent interview when asked which team he would prefer to join if KKR does not retain him, Rinku Singh expressed his interest in playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Rinku Singh admires Virat Kohli as his idol and their bond is well known among fans. Rinku's deep admiration for Kohli was evident when he asked for a bat from Kohli during the last IPL season after his own bat broke. The heartwarming video of this exchange captured the affection between them, fans found it cute and it was widely appreciated by them seeing the friendly interaction between the two cricketers.

 
Recently Rinku Singh also expressed his desire to play Test. 


"I want to play all three formats of the game. I like playing Test cricket a lot. My batting average in red-ball cricket is 55," Rinku told News 24.

He reinforced his enthusiasm for this format by stating"  "I really like to play against the red ball."


In the same interview, Rinku mentioned the advice he got from Indian captain Rohit Sharma after missing out on the T20 World Cup. Rohit Sharma highlighted the need for perseverance and encouraged him to look ahead to future chances.

He told Rinku, "don't worry, you are still very young. There will be many World Cups in the future. Keep working hard. There is a World Cup every two years, so focus on that."
