India beat Sri Lanka by 88 runs; clinch T20 series

Indore: After a brilliant display of batting, India bowlers bundled up the Sri Lankan side on 172 runs which led the men in blue to a 88-run victory in the second T20I of the three-match series at the Holkar stadium here tonight.With this win, the Rohit Sharma-led side has also clinched the series with a match to go.Chasing a mammoth 261-run target, the visitors never looked in control as they lost their opener in the fifth over with just 36 runs on board. However, Kusal Perera and Upul Tharanga added a crucial 109-run partnership for the second wicket and gave some respite to the Sri Lankan dressing room.
It was Yuzvendra Chahal, who finally sent back a good looking Tharanga (47 off 29) in the 14th over while Perera, who played a quickfire cameo of 37-ball 77 runs, was too dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in the next over. After this, the visitors couldn't even show a fighting spirit and the entire team was warapped up at 172 runs.For India, Chahal and Kuldeep bagged four and three wickets respectively. (UNI)
