New Delhi: Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) on Monday announced star off-spinner Ravichandran Aswhin as their captain for the upcoming season of the cash-rich league.KXIP mentor and former India opener Virender Sehwag informed about the development in the team's official Facebook page.Commenting on his appointment, the Punjab's new skipper said in a statement,"I feel honoured to be trusted with the responsibility of leading such a talented bunch of cricketers. I am confident of bringing out the best out of teammates. This is indeed a proud moment for me."
"There is no additional pressure on me as such. I first led my state side in first class cricket when I was 21. I have done it in the past and I am sure that I will enjoy the challenge," added Ashwin.Significantly, Ashwin, who has been out from India's ODI and T20 team since a long time, was part of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for eight long years.
