IPL 2022: MS Dhoni achieves another milestone in T20. Details inside!

Mumbai: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni became the second cricketer after Virat Kohli to achieve 6,000 runs milestone as captain in the shortest format of the game in IPL match against Delhi Capitals (DC) here at DY Patil Stadium.

Dhoni needed just four runs to reach the landmark prior to the game against DC on Sunday. The 40-year-old came to the crease in the 18th over and started his knock with dot ball after which he smashed Mitchel Marsh for a maximum and crossed the 6000-run mark.

Kohli amassed 6,451 runs in 190 matches as skipper in the T20 format with 48 half-centuries and five centuries to his name.

On Sunday, Dhoni played an unbeaten knock of 21 runs off 8 balls, including a boundary and two sixes as CSK posted a target of 209. In reply, Capitals folded for 117 inside 18 overs thanks to Moeen Ali (3/13) and Mukesh Choudhary (2/22). (UNI)
