Batting first, Gujarat set a target of 178 runs before Rajasthan which the visitors achieved with four balls to spare, riding high on Samson's 60 off 32 balls and Hetmyer's unbeaten 56 off 26 balls.
Inspite of Samson's dismissal, Rajasthan needed 64 runs in last five overs. From here, Hetmyer ensured Rajasthan's victory in the cut-throat competition.
Mohammed Shami conceded 16 runs in the 19th over, but also succeeded in taking crucial wickets of Dhruv Jurel and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Rajasthan needed seven off the last over, and Hardik Pandya gave the ball to debutant spinner Noor Ahmed to stop Hetmyer. However, the West Indian hit the winning six off the second ball of the over.
