Maharashtra reports 2,962 Covid cases and 6 deaths in 24 hrs

Aurangabad/Mumbai: Maharashtra reported 2,962 fresh cases of Covid-19 and 6 related deaths, according to health bulletin on Monday.
With the addition of these new cases, the state’s cumulative case tally has surged to 79,85,296 and the death toll has gone up to 1,47,940.
Meanwhile, 3,918 patients were cured and discharged during the day across the state, taking overall count of recoveries to 78,14,871.
The state's recovery rate significantly came down to 97.87 per cent and fatality rate 1.85 per cent.
So far 8,21,19,246 total samples were investigated in the state of them 79,85,296 were tested as positive i.e. 9.72 percent .
Presently, 22,485 active patients are undergoing treatment in different hospitals, the bulletin added.
Meanwhile, in Marathwada region of the state 126 Covid cases were reported including 53 cases in Aurangabad district, followed by 24 cases in Jalna district, 21 cases in Osmanabad district, 11 in Nanded district, 10 cases in Beed district and 7 cases in Latur, the bulletin further added. (UNI)
