“Next time baat ko nation pe mat laana”: Ex Afghanistan Cricket Chief laments Shoaib Akhtar over video of Afghan fans vandalizing Sharjah stadium

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar and former Afghanistan Cricket chief Shafiq Stanikzai were involved in a heated exchange on Twitter after unruly scene broke out between the fans of both the team in the stadium after Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by one wicket in a thrilling game in fourth Super 4 T20 match of Asia Cup in Sharjah.

After Afghan loss, it’s heartbroken fans were seen venting out their frustration in the stands. In a viral video, afghan fans can be seen breaking chairs and then throwing them towards the Pakistan supporters.

Tagging former ACB Chairman Shafiq Stanikzai, Ex-Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar shared the video and wrote: "This is what Afghan fans are doing. This is what they've done in the past multiple times. This is a game and it's supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit.@ShafiqStanikzai your crowd & your players both need to learn a few things if you guys want to grow in the sport."

Shafiq Stanikzai then gave a befitting reply to Akhtar, saying nobody can control the emotions of fans and he should not bring the entire nation when talking about such a type of incident.

"You can't control the emotions of the crowd and such incidents happened in the world of cricket multiple, you should go ask Kabir Khan, Inzimam Bhai and @iRashidLatif68 how we treated them. Am giving you an advice next time baat ko nation pe Mat lena," wrote Stanikzai.

The match also saw some unsavoury scenes between Pakistan cricketer Asif Ali and Afghan bowler Fareed Ahmad when the former was seen raising bat at the latter.

Sharing some photos of the incident, Stanikzai wrote, “@shoaib100mph watch these photos and the video carefully then judge, also let the Match referee decide in accordance to the Cricket law before you use humiliating words to the entire nation and it’s your second time u r doing so. I hope ke ab ap apology ke hemat karogi.”

Stanikzai also shared a photo and wrote: "Our motive always been to spread love, that’s why our team earned the respect worldwide"
