PM Modi congratulates Sumit Antil & Nithya Sre Sivan for winning medals at Paris Paralympics

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Sumit Antil for winning the Gold medal in the Men's Javelin F64 and Nithya Sre Sivan on winning the Bronze medal in the Women’s Singles Badminton SH6 event at Paris Paralympics 2024.
 
Prime Minister in a post on ‘X’ wrote, “Exceptional performance by Sumit! Congratulations to him for winning the Gold in the Men's Javelin F64 event! He has shown outstanding consistency and excellence. Best wishes for his upcoming endeavours. @sumit_javelin #Cheer4Bharat".

 
In another post, Modi said, "Congratulations to Nithya Sre Sivan on winning the Bronze medal in the Women’s Singles Badminton SH6 event at the #Paralympics2024! Her feat has inspired countless people and highlights her passion as well as dedication to the game. @07nithyasre #Cheer4Bharat".

 
Javelin thrower Sumit clinched the gold on Monday in the record-breaking men's javelin throw F64 final, defeating Britain's Daniel Bethell 21-14 18-21 23-21 in a hard-fought event that lasted over an hour.
 
In the Women’s Singles Badminton SH6 event, Nithya Sre Sivan won her maiden Paralympic medal, beating the former World Champion Rina Larlina of Indonesia 2-0 to claim the bronze on Monday evening.
