In a deeply emotional turn of events following the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, a woman named Gomtiben, unable to cope with the sudden death of her younger brother, also passed away.
The victims of the crash, Bhogilal Parmar and his wife Hansa Parmar, residents of Rakhiyana village in Mandal taluka of Ahmedabad district, were en route to London for the delivery of their daughter-in-law. Bhogilal, a retired police constable, and his wife boarded the ill-fated Air India flight that crashed shortly after takeoff, ending their journey and lives abruptly.
Their untimely demise left their family shattered—particularly Bhogilal’s elder sister, Gomtiben, 65. Upon hearing the news of the crash, she was devastated and reportedly stopped eating and drinking, saying she would only do so after seeing her brother and sister-in-law again.
When Gomtiben alongwith other relatives had gathered at his home in Lambha, Ahmedabad, to mourn the untimely deaths. She collapsed during the gathering and died on the spot.
Her son Sagar said, "My mother and uncle were emotionally very close since childhood. She couldn't bear the grief."
