In a rare and concerning medical case, a 27-year-old Delhi woman was rushed to a private hospital after she experienced severe abdominal pain and constipation for two consecutive days. Upon medical examination, it was discovered that the cause of her distress was a moisturizer bottle lodged deep inside her intestinal tract, which she had inserted in her rectum in a moment of sexual experimentation.
Emergency Escalated After Initial Attempts Failed
The woman informed doctors that the bottle had been inserted two days earlier as part of a personal act driven by sexual gratification. When initial medical attempts to extract the object failed, the doctors immediately performed an X-ray scan, which confirmed that the bottle had traveled deeper and was lodged in the upper part of her rectum.
Doctors feared that continued pressure from the object might result in intestinal rupture, a life-threatening condition. The case was treated as a medical emergency.
Bottle Removed Without Surgery Using Sigmoidoscopy
Fortunately, the medical team at the hospital decided to proceed with a non-surgical technique known as sigmoidoscopy. This minimally invasive procedure allowed them to extract the bottle safely without the need to cut into the stomach or intestines. The patient reportedly experienced minimal pain and recovered quickly.
