Telangana: IAF Chopper airlifts 2 shepherds stranded in Godavari - WATCH

Hyderabad: An Indian Air Force (IAF) Chopper has rescued two men, who were stranded in flooded river Godavari at Somanpalli village of Chennur mandal in Telangana on Thursday.

The two men had gone to the fields to attend to their cattle on Wednesday. However, the river Godavari, which is in spate due to heavy rains, flooded the village and the duo climbed on an overhead tank to save their lives.

TRS government whip and Chennuru MLA Balka Suman, who came to know about this from the villagers, spoke to Telangana Minister KT Rama Rao to send an IAF helicopter and save them.

An IAF chopper was immediately pressed into action from Hyderabad to evacuate them and the MLA personally supervised the evacuation efforts, official sources said. (UNI)
