A man from Andhra Pradesh, who works in Kuwait, went to his native village and murdered his differently-abled relative for allegedly sexually abusing his minor daughter, before flying back to Kuwait the same day.
The incident took place in Kothamangampeta village at Obulavaripalle Mandal in Annamayya district.
As per police, Anjaneya Prasad, 35, arrived from Kuwait recently and beat his physically challenged relative P Anjaneyulu (59) to death with an iron rod while sleeping for allegedly sexually abusing his daughter.
“Anjaneya Prasad came to India in the first week of December and killed Anjaneyulu in the intervening night of December 6 and 7 when the latter was sleeping outside his home,” the police official told PTI.
On Thursday, Prasad released a video message, confessing to having committed the crime as the police allegedly failed to take action over his daughter's complaint.
#AndhraPradesh: "Even if it ruined my life, I wanted to set an example for others," 37-year-old Anjaneya Prasad stated in his video admission of killing a 59-year-old man who he alleges molested his 12-year-old daughter.
According to reports, Anjaneya Prasad and his wife, Chandrakala, were residing in Kuwait while their 12-year-old daughter was staying at the house of the family of Chandrakala’s sister Lakshmi. Lakshmi’s father-in-law Anjaneyulu misbehaved with their daughter.
When Prasad’s wife learned of the alleged misconduct, she came to India to bring their daughter to Kuwait and filed a complaint at the Obulavaripalli police station, but the family claims that no action was taken.
Meanwhile, police registered a murder case against Prasad and have launched a deeper investigation into his claims.
