A shocking case of sexual abuse has come to light from Rajasthan, where a man was arrested for molesting a minor girl by scaring her with a Cobra snake.
A 29-year-old man hailing from Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi was arrested in Kota for molesting a minor girl, cheating people and illegally possessing a Cobra snake.
The police have also recovered from his possession counterfeit Indian currency notes worth Rs 7.20 lakh.
A local resident from Raja Nagar approached the Railway Colony Police Station last Sunday and lodged a report against Mohammed Imran, alleging molestation of his minor niece, filming vulgar videos with her and cheating Rs 1.36 lakh from her father, Kota City SP Amrita Duhan said.
The complainant also accused Imran of keeping a Cobra snake in his room to frighten women and girls before molesting them.
The accused Imran lives with his wife in a rented accommodation in the Railway Colony police station area in Kota and worked as a quack and claimed to treat people with medicinal plants, police said.
The minor's molestation came to light when the complainant checked Imran's mobile phone and found explicit video of his niece with the accused. The victim later confirmed the crime, stating that Imran had threatened to kill her by getting her bitten by the Cobra if she disclosed it to anyone else, the police official said.
Accused Imran was produced on Wednesday before court which sent him to three-day police remand, police said.
Imran's wife, Asmeen, was also booked under sections of the POCSO and IT Acts for allegedly filming the videos, though she has not yet been arrested.
