This has to be single most definitive picture of the Dance of defiance! Four days after the deadly attack on Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's dargah in Sehwan, the dancer/activist Sheema Kermani led the charge and showed the world how to do it. She danced on the same plays, where there was a ferocious "Danse Macabre" all but four days ago!
Last week, nearly 85 people were killed and over 300 injured in a suicide bomb explosion at Lal Shahbaz Qalandar's dargah in Sehwan. But as soon as the shrine was cleared, the festivities resumed and the Dhammal dance kept going on. The devotees even denied police an entry into the sacred shrine. One of the shrine's caretakers said with a lump in his throat : "This is no place for the police, This is our place."
And then, on Sunday afternoon, dancer/activist Sheema Kermani, in what was the strongest message t went all the way to dance at the same place. The picture of her dance has gone viral around the world!
