Assembly Poll: Enforcement officials seizes Rs 6.5 cr cash in Telangana

Hyderabad: Enforcement Officials have seized Rs 6.5 crore cash at two different places during the last 24 hours while checking vehicles in connection with the  Telangana  Assembly election to be held on December 7.
In the first incident, Rs 6 crore was seized at Pembarthy check-post in Jangaon district when they were transporting the money in a car from Hyderabad to Warangal without any valid documents.
 
In another incident, Police seized Rs 50 lakh from an auto-trolley when they were transporting the money from Manchiryal to Nennella.
 
Police suspecting that the money belongs to TRS Candidate Durgam Chinnaiah who is contesting from Bellampally Assembly Constituency.
 
The police and IT departments have so far seized about Rs 100.5 crore cash besides Rs 9 crore worth liquor and among others since the election process had commenced, Official sources said. (UNI)
