Gravton launches India first all-terrain electric motorcycle Quanta with 130 kilometer range in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad-based Gravton Motors, an EV full stack company and a pioneer in sustainable mobility, launched India’s first all-terrain electric motorcycle ‘Quanta’, designed to meet the diverse needs of Indian consumers, at T-Hub here on Tuesday.
 
Price tag of Rs 1.2 lakh, this Electric motorcycle is the first in India to integrate Lithium Manganese Iron Phosphate ( LMFP) battery, which offer higher safety, energy density and potentially longer life span compared to traditional lithium-ion batteries, said Parshuram Paka, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gravton Motors on the occasion.
 
Completely made in and for Bharat, this 17-inch wheel ( also scalable) vehicle manufacturing at Gravton’s state-of-the-art facility in Cherlapally, on outskirts of Hyderabad, he said the plant’s current capacity was 30,000 units per annum to meet the growing demand of electric two-wheelers in the country.
 
Quanta electric motorcycle is the product of 5-years of hard work and released after stringent tests including all-terrain testing, Parshuram, who set a record for completing a non-stop drive on Quanta electric motorcycle from Hyderabad to Kanyakumari in 24-hours, said Quanta electric motorcycle can be charged anywhere using a ‘normal 3-pin socket and with a range of 130 kilometers, the vehicle consumers 2.7 unit per charge which makes it extremely cost-effective as compared to the traditional ICE motorcycles, he claimed.
 
We have invested Rs 40 crore so far and plan to invest another Rs 110 crore in the next one and half year for expansion, he informed and said that we are also planning to set up another facility in Telangana to launch another two variants in the next 8-months.
 
Already 10,000 pre-bookings were held including the highest number of bookings from Maharashtra, he said the company is planning to open 14 stores across the country including one in Hyderabad , in next 12-months, said the CEO.
 
To grab the growing demand in EVs, We are also planning to set up another facility likely in Pune (Maharashtra), he said currently, our headcount was 130 direct employment and 300 are indirect employment.
 
Approved by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI), which makes it ready for commercial use, the vehicle has a maximum load capacity of 265 kilograms overall and charges up to 80 percent in under 90 minutes, Parshuram added.
 
Earlier, the CEO presented the first Quanta Electric motorcycle to his first school teacher Gangaram, who played a vital; role in nurturing and encouraging Parshuram in his early years.
 
The CEO also handed over the Quanta Electric motorcycle to its first 10 customers on the occasion.
 
With a 3-years warranty on battery, the Quanta EV is available in two colors – Lightening White and Firey Red and it is now available for bookings at Gravton Motors’ official website.
