Mumbai: Bollywood icon Aamir Khan has roared back into the spotlight with "Sitaare Zameen Par", a film that has now surpassed Rs 150 crore at the domestic box office.
Released on June 20, the film is widely considered a spiritual sequel of the 2007 classic "Taare Zameen Par". Garnering critical acclaim and commercial success, "Sitaare Zameen Par" marks a compelling re-entry for the actor-director following the underwhelming reception of his 2022 film "Lal Singh Chaddha".
According to the report of trade website Sacnilk, "Sitaare Zameen Par" has earned more than Rs 150 crore in 18 days.
Genelia Deshmukh plays the lead in the Aamir Khan starrer which has introduced ten new faces - Arush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar.
Produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film has been simultaneously released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages, widening its position across linguistic footprints.
"Sitaare Zameen Par" is directed by R. S. Prasanna and jointly produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit along with Ravi Bhagchandka. The film features a soul-stirring soundtrack by the celebrated trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with poignant lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and a screenplay crafted by Divya Nidhi Sharma.
