Sitaare Zameen Par Box Office Collection: Aamir Khan starrer makes Rs 60 crores in debut weekend

Mumbai: Bollywood star and filmmaker Aamir Khan's film 'Sitaare Zameen Par' has made an impressive debut, collecting approximately Rs 60 crores within its first three days of release in the Indian market.

Released in theatres on June 20, the film is being seen as a spiritual follow-up to Khan's 2007 classic 'Taare Zameen Par'. Marking Khan's return to the big screen after a hiatus. 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is making a splash in theatres and creating waves among cine goers, across its Hindi, Tamil and Telugu versions.

According to the report of trade website Sacnilk, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' earned Rs 10.7 crore on day one, followed by a significant uptick on day two with earnings Rs 20.2 crore and further Rs 29.22 crore, culminating in a robust Rs 60 crore weekend haul.

Directed by R. S. Prasanna, the film also introduces ten debut actors, including Arush Dutta, Gopi Krishna Verma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar.

Alongside Khan, Genelia Deshmukh stars in a pivotal role, bringing warmth and emotional resonance to the narrative. The screenplay is crafted by Divya Nidhi Sharma. Jointly produced by Aamir Khan Productions, Aparna Purohit and Ravi Bhagchandka.

The musical score, composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, is both stirring and evocative, with lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya lending poetic richness to the track.
