Mumbai: In a moment steeped in emotion and cinematic grandeur, the first official glimpse of Thalapathy Vijay's film "Jana Nayagan", was unveiled at the stroke of midnight on the occasion of the superstar's birthday.
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker H. Vinoth, with a compelling score composed by Anirudh Ravichander, "Jan Nayagan" is being promotionally packaged as Vijay's final film before his entry into politics.
The 65-second teaser starts with Vijay’s voice saying, “You guys will live in my heart.” A text flashes on the screen that reads, “A true leader rises not for power, but for people.” Together, the voiceover and the text presents a cinematic farewell and also signals his annointment into politics. For the non-versed, Vjay formed his political party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam in February last year.
In "Jana Nayagan", Vijay is portrayed as a fearless police officer driven by justice and empathy rather than authority. The visual extravaganza shows the police officer emerging from a town engulfed in flames with katana in hand. A new birthday poster has been released with this, in which Vijay is sitting like a king on a leather throne, sword in hand, smoke and war atmosphere behind him.
Backed by Venkat K. Narayan and the prestigious KVN Productions, "Jana Nayagan" will hit the big screens worldwide on January 9, 2026 on the occasion of Pongal festival.
