Mumbai: In an industry often drawn to spectacle and star lineage, actor and casting director Abhishek Banerjee has drawn attention to the quiet, compelling ascent of Siddhant Chaturvedi, whom he describes as a “rare pick” in contemporary Hindi cinema.
While many would expect industry veterans or more established stars to top such a list, Banerjee’s praise for Siddhant was both deliberate and deeply genuine. “Siddhant Chaturvedi is my rarest find. I'll take his name because he has given very important performances. We cast him in inside edge as the character of a Dalit bowler — and that choice is deliberate and important to highlight.”
Banerjee’s voice laced out with admiration saying, “The first time I saw him, I knew there is something remarkable about this man. Siddhant who is a HERO today, and imagined in all different stylish, glamorous roles — we had envisioned him as a lower caster sportsman, someone who was oppressed and bullied.”
Abhishek, who has played memorable supporting roles himself, believes that Siddhant represents a new generation of actors who bring both style and depth and are not afraid to take creative risks.
“He was selected for a Coca-Cola ad, then we cast him in inside edge, and from there, he went on to Gully Boy. I feel genuinely PROUD, because no matter what came after — I had seen the spark and talent in him from the beginning. That’s rare. I really admire that about him”, he further added.
Looking ahead, Siddhant Chaturvedi is set to appear in two films "Dhadak 2" alongside Tripti Dimri and the quirky rom-com "Dil Ka Darwaza Khol Na Darling", in which he stars opposite Wamiqa Gabbi.
