Mumbai: Sriram Raghavan's directorial venture 'Andhadhun' which stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Tabu and Radhika Apte has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark at the China box office.Released in China under the title 'Piano Player', the movie earned Rs 208 crore at the end of second week.
'Andhadhun', which released on April 3, has now become the fifth Hindi grosser in China after 'Dangal', 'Secret Superstar', 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and 'Hindi Medium'.
Producer Sanjay Routray, the founder of Matchbox Pictures, said, ''This April has been exciting for all of us. On one hand, 'Andhadhun' has raked in over Rs 200 crore at the Chinese box office and is still going strong, on the other hand, it received a standing ovation as the opening film at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA) last week. It was an honour to be at this screening along with Sriram and Tabu. We are overjoyed that his vision and our film is being celebrated across the world now.''
'Andhadhun' is a black comedy crime thriller co-written and directed by Sriram Raghavan.
Produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Matchbox Pictures, the film stars Tabu, Ayushmann Khurrana and Radhika Apte and tells the story of a piano player who unwillingly becomes embroiled in the murder of a former film actor.
Its script was written by Raghavan, Arijit Biswas, Pooja Ladha Surti, Yogesh Chandekar and Hemanth Rao.
'Andhadhun' released theatrically on October 5, 2018.
