Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna’s vampire romance ‘Thamma’ gets gripping trailer

The much-awaited trailer of Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna starrer Thamma has finally been released, offering a thrilling glimpse into Maddock Films’ expanding Horror-Comedy Universe.

Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Thamma is the latest addition to the hit franchise that includes Stree, Stree 2, and Bhediya. Clocking in at 2 minutes and 24 seconds, the trailer promises an intriguing mix of supernatural drama, quirky humor, and intense romance, all set in a world teetering on the edge of a vampire uprising.

The trailer opens with the introduction of Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the menacing Thamma, a vampire with a sinister plan to convert humans into an undead army to dominate the world. However, his ambitions are cut short when he's captured and imprisoned in a cave for 1,000 years.Fast-forward to the present, Ayushmann Khurrana’s character accidentally encounters the ancient vampire and soon finds himself turned into one. This leads to the entry of Rashmika Mandanna, seen carrying Ayushmann on her back in one scene, hinting at the emotionally intense bond between the two.

Ayushmann is seen wielding his newfound powers, leaping across buildings and tossing cars effortlessly, while navigating a forbidden romance and an impending clash with Nawazuddin’s character.

Veteran actor Paresh Rawal also features in the trailer, delivering his trademark comedic punches, adding a lighter tone to the dark fantasy narrative.Thamma appears to blend elements of folklore, horror, and humor with a fresh take on vampire mythology; a first for Indian cinema at this scale. The trailer was unveiled by Maddock Films via their official Instagram handle yesterday, and has since generated strong buzz among fans of the genre.(UNI)
