56 succumbs as India logs 20,044 fresh Covid cases

New Delhi: India registered 20,044 new Covid-19 cases, the Health Ministry bulletin said on Saturday.According to the bulletin, the total caseload rose to 4,37,30,071, while the death toll rose to 5,25,660 as 56 more people succumbed to the disease.On a positive note, 18,301 people recovered from the disease, taking the tally to 4,30,63,651. The recovery rate currently stands at 98.41 per cent.
The active caseload currently stands at 1,40,760, the figures showed.As per the bulletin, 86.90 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.India has administered 199.71 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.(UNI)
