COVID-19: India logs 1,007 new cases, 1 death in last 24 hrs

New Delhi: India has registered 1,007 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of cases to 4,30,39 023 in the country, as per the Health Ministry data on Thursday.
As many as one fresh fatalities were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total death count in the country, as a result of coronavirus, to 52 1737.
The active cases stand at 11, 058 which now comprises 0.03 per cent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate has decreased to 98.76 per cent.
Meanwhile, 818 recoveries were reported in the last 24 hours, increasing the total recoveries of 4,25,06,228.
On the vaccination front, the government has been continuously speeding up the vaccination drive across the country.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry on Thursday 83.08 Crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. In the last 24 hours, a total of 4,34,877 tests have been conducted.
“India has administered 186.22 cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive,” Ministry data said.
More than 192.02 Crore more vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far. Over 20.55 Crore balance and unutilized Covid-19 vaccine doses are still available with the States/UTs to be administered, the ministry said. (UNI)
