COVID-19: India logs 2,568 cases, 97 deaths in 24 hrs

New Delhi: As many as 2,568 people tested positive for Covid-19 in India, the Union Health Ministry said on Tuesday.
According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,29,96,062 while the death toll rose to 5,15,974 as 97 people succumbed to the disease.
On the other hand, 4,722 more people have recovered from the disease during the same period, taking the total tally to 4,24,46, 171. The recovery rate stands at 98.72 per cent.
The active caseload currently stands at 33,917, the figures showed.
According to the bulletin, 77.97 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far.
India has administered 180.40 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive. (UNI)
